Josh Stachini has extended his stay with Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division club Ashton United after signing for the 2017/18 season.
Stachini has played for the likes of Manchester City, Sheffield Wednesday and Motherwell and has also represented Northern Ireland at under-19 level.
He joined Ashton last season and is a versatile left-sided player who is capable of playing in any position.
Keeping Stachini is a real signal of intent from managers Jody Banim and Will Haining as clubs from higher divisions were keeping tabs on the youngster.
Stachini was integral to Ashton`s new style of play under Banim and Haining that saw the Robins finish in a comfortable mid-table position.
Dominic Smalley has also signed up for the upcoming season.
The ex-Salford City defender suffered a career-threatening injury at the start of the 2015/16 campaign which kept him out of action for nearly a full year, but it is safe to say that the full-back has returned to action stronger and better than ever.
He was one of the most important figures for the Robins last year in his first season at the club by getting up and down the flank and will be looking to do more of the same next season.
