...experienced centre back Paul Jones, who was at Conference Premier outfit Barrow AFC last season.
Jones made ninety-one appearances for the Bluebirds, where he was captain. He started out at Tranmere Rovers, from where he went on loan to Blackpool. His first spell at Barrow came in the 1997/98 season in the UniBond Premier League.
Next he joined Leigh RMI - then in the Conference - and moved on up to Division Two with Oldham Athletic for whom he played seventeen games in 1999/00 season. Injury limited his appearances before he left Boundary Park in 2002.
Jones rebuilt his career, firstly, with Hyde United, before re-joining Barrow for 2006/07 season in Conference North, where he even had a spell as a temporary player-manager, alongside the Bluebirds' current bosses Darren Sheridan and Dave Bayliss.
Towards the end of last season he had joined Droylsden on a short-term loan.
