....Keith Briggs could play a key part in their hopes of reaching the Blue Square Bet Premier play-offs.
Briggs, 30, was a surprise return to the Aggborough outfit last Friday after being released by Conference Premier champions Fleetwood Town.
The former Stockport County and Stalybridge Celtic midfield general was a popular figure for Harriers fans during the 2010/11 campaign, before moving to Fleetwood last summer. Austin, 27, also played an important role for Burton Albion during the 2008/09 when they topped the table and won automatic promotion to the Football League.
Whild said: “Part of our thinking was to add some experience to the squad this summer and both Keith and Ryan have been part of teams which have won promotion from the Conference.
“We’ve also added Exodus Geohaghon and still have Danny Lewis as well, so we’ve got players who have the know-how.”
Harriers management are also running the rule over three triallists in goalkeepers Robert Ambrusics, who has been at Leicester City, Josh van Leader from MLS outfit Georgia Revolution and Stourbridge defender Paul McCone.
