As a consequence, two very experienced players in defender Billy Burgess and forward Gareth Williams have been added to the squad, and more new signings are expected as the Wands finalise their plans for the new season.

Burgess started his career in the Welling United youth set-up and later moved to Braintree Town for five seasons, making over 130 appearances and was the Iron`s captain.

He joined Dartford in June 2009, where he was vice-captain for the 2010/11 season, before spending last season with Ryman Division One North side Maldon & Tiptree.

Williams is a Welsh under-21 international who had five years at Crystal Palace and Colchester United before moving into non-League football where he has played for several clubs including Braintree and Bromley.
