Abalimba, a 20-year-old Congolese centre midfielder, has Football League pedigree with Derby County, Southend United and Oldham Athletic and has also trialled at Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester United.

Boro boss Spencer Day has also added 6ft-tall triallist Bradley Duke, formerly at Ryman League Division One South side Merstham, who impressed at right-back in pre-season, to his squad.

Duke joined Merstham midway through the 2009/10 season from Burgess Hill Town having previously been a regular at Croydon Athletic and coming through the youth set-up at Sutton United.
