Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division club FC Clacton have announced the appointment of Tommy Austin as first-team coach.

Following his recent injury, Austin will now be assisting manager Kieron Shelley and his assistant Mike Wallace as part of the management set-up.

A strong central defender or defensive midfielder, Austin returned to FC Clacton after a spell away at Wivenhoe Town.

He was club captain at FC Clacton before a serious back injury kept him out the game for a long period of time.
