FC United Receive Special Invitation

....play a friendly against Bishop Auckland on Saturday, 21st July 2012 to mark their 125th anniversary.

Many FC United fans will know the historical link between Manchester United and Bishop Auckland, because they lent United three players in the immediate aftermath of the Munich air crash in 1958 - Derek Lewin, Warren Bradley and Bobby Hardisty.

Bradley, went on to become a regular in the United first-team and added to his amateur international status by becoming a full England international in the same season - a unique achievement.

Hardisty also won fifteen England caps but perhaps more relevant considering the timing of this friendly, is that he represented Great Britain at three Olympic Games, once as captain and twice as assistant-manager.
