A powerful first half performance from Grays Athletic saw them leap-frog visitors Bury Town into ninth place in the only game on in the Bostik League North on Saturday.
Officials and fans had helped get Aveley`s Parkside artificial surface fit for play and cleared of snow.
And the home fans in the 251 crowd were rewarded as early as the 9th minute when top scorer Kieran Bishop opened the scoring.
Grays doubled their lead just 2 minutes later when Joao Carlos fired past Luis Tibbles via the underside of the bar.
It was 3-0 with just 19 minutes gone when Richard Halle`s free-kick found the experienced Dennis Oli, who found Bishop to fire past Tibbles for his second of the game and 25th of the season to date.
The visitors came close to reducing the deficit in the early in the second half when Cemal Ramadan`s shot was only half saved by Lamar Johnson, only for Halle to clear off the line.
But Ramadan wasn`t to be denied and he `won` the second half for Bury when he reduced the deficit to two in the 57th minute.
