.....League Division One South club`s new manager Tim Dixon's first signing of the summer.
Hill, 28, has signed from neighbours, and bitter rivals, Margate in a deal which also sees him named as Ramsgate captain for next season. The signing was revealed at the Ramsgate Football Supporters Association AGM on Wednesday evening.
"Deano" first came to the Rams in 2005 and won the Ryman Premier League in 2007 before returning to where it all started with Dover Athletic in 2008.
He won a Ryman Premier winners` medal with Dover Athletic and regularly played Blue Square Bet South football until signing for Margate in February last year.
When it was clear that Hill was available, Dixon moved quickly to secure his services and start building his squad ahead of the new campaign.
Dixon said: "This is a fantastic signing and is probably going to be our flagship signing of the summer.
"Dean is a winner and that is why I wanted him here. He knows how to win and wants to help us win things.
"He knows that we are trying to do something great here and he wants to be part of it.
"He was keen to come back to Ramsgate and I am delighted that we have signed such an experienced player with proven quality and ability."
Dixon has maintained that strengthening the defence was a priority during the summer and the signing of Hill will no doubt help.
Dixon added: "Dean will definitely tighten us up at the back, I have no doubt about that.
"I am still looking to strengthen in the defence as well.
"I have had one player call me expressing an interest in joining but I think he is out of our league.
"Dean is a great lad and he is joining us for the right reasons. He knows myself and (assistant manager) Darren and he wants to help push this club upwards.
"We fought off a number of clubs to sign Dean including Hythe, Whitstable and Leatherhead. He was a man in demand and I am so happy that he has come back home.
"He told me that he had butterflies when he came back just like I did when I returned as manager last month.
"The signing has gone down extremely well with supporters and is a huge boost for us ahead of the new season."
