.....following a recommendation by Gills` youth team boss Darren Hare after Mackenzie failed to earn a third-year of his scholarship at Priestfield.
Whitstable manager Justin Luchford said: "When he came down to our training sessions it was clear he was a good player. Although he is small, he has tremendous talent and will be a real asset to the club.”
MacKenzie played in the traditional pre-season game against Herne Bay, creating Whitstable’s second goal, hammering a shot against the cross bar and playing a big part in Whitstable regaining the Bruce Smith Shield.”
