Fowler`s Strike Slow at SIX Seconds!

.....replay at the second time of asking. The game was memorable for 17-year-old Josh Fowler, who scored a hat-trick, including one of the fastest if not the fastest ever goal scored in an FA Cup tie timed at just SIX seconds.

Unfortunately Fowler cannot claim the fastest goal record in the competition as when the question was asked by Uhlsport Hellenic League General Manager Brian King of FA historian David Barber - the response came through quickly but not as fast as Josh’s goal.

The FA response stated that the fastest FA Cup goal was scored by Gareth Morris for Ashton United against Skelmersdale United in a First Round Qualifying match on 15th September 2001. This was timed at FOUR seconds. Fowler’s goal was pretty swift though!
