....Premier Division rivals Chippenham Town.
The well-known non-League striker started his career with Bristol Rovers but after a handful of appearances in the Football League and loan spells in non-League football with Forest Green Rovers, Chippenham Town and Bath City and on his release joined Weston-super-Mare where he played for two seasons before joining Chippenham and became the Southern League`s top scorer in his first season.
Bath had been trailing him for a while and had several offers for the front man turned town by the Hardenhuish Park outfit before eventually snapping him up on a free transfer after two years plying his trade in Wiltshire and he went on to score fifty goals in ninety-eight appearances for the Romans.
Gilroy then moved on to Newport County where he only made a few starts and had brief loan spells back at Weston and at Bath before moving on to Woking where he notched seven goals in twenty-one games for the Conference side in 2010/11 but at the end of the season he re-joined Chippenham.
It is hoped he will be able to play in Wednesday’s home against Weymouth.
