Gayle Adds More to Swans` Squad
Max Worsfold

.....friendly game under their belts, Marcus Gayle, manager of Blue Square Bet South club Staines Town, admits to almost having slotted-in the last pieces of his jigsaw with another handful of new signings, pushing the total number of new faces added to the Swans squad into double-figures.

And with that intense recruitment activity, Gayle is now looking for his squad of nineteen to continue to gel and bed down throughout the pre-season training and friendly schedule in order they hit the ground running at the start of the new campaign later next month.

The latest of the confirmed new signings are full-back Jordaan Brown and attacking, left-sided midfielder Max Worsfold, with striker Louie-Rae Beadle set to complete his registration in the next day or so. Furthermore, Gayle hopes to finally secure the services of right-sided full-back Ade Osifuwa, also ahead of tomorrow's home friendly run-out against npower League Two side Wycombe Wanderers.

Coming from the same stable as goalkeeper Jack Turner and Osifuwa, Brown represented Gayle's AFC Wimbledon reserve team consistently over the last couple of years, as well as gaining some senior experience with Chipstead in the Ryman League.

Aged just 20, the left-back had been a regular in the Wombles' second string over the last two seasons and also made a single Conference Premier appearance for them during the 2009/10 campaign.

Showing-up well last Saturday at Staines Lammas, Brown is a tall, rangy defender who also offers support further up field with ample pace when over-lapping up the flank.

Twenty-one-year-old Worsfold twice appeared in opposition to the Swans last term, whilst playing on-loan for both Maidenhead United and Dorchester Town.

An energetic midfielder, who can play in the centre or on the left, Worsfold is a local lad who was born in Chertsey and schooled at Magna Carta in Egham where he excelled in various sports, but it was his footballing prowess that was noted by Aldershot Town where he was on the books for a couple of seasons, during which time he also enjoyed loan spells with both Wealdstone and Basingstoke Town.

Gayle is planning to make it a hat-trick of new faces on Saturday with 21-year-old forward Louie-Rae Beadle, who finished last season with Ryman Premier side Kingstonian, where he made a dozen or so appearances and scored on his debut, this after having left Hampton & Richmond Borough in March.

Whilst with the Beavers, he'd netted the opening goal for our Middlesex rivals as they beat the Swans 4-1 at Wheatsheaf Park on New Year`s Day!

A former Burnley triallist, he appeared as a second half substitute for the Swans in last Saturday's opening pre-season game at Staines Lammas, notably setting-up the second and third goals for new team-mates Hanif Boyle and Enez Azemi.
