Glovers Break Trawlerboys Agreement

.....Meadow to take on Ryman League Premier Division club Lowestoft Town.

Yeovil have therefore breached the FA contract which took Curtis Haynes Brown to Huish Park.

Written in the official FA contract as part of the transfer was that Yeovil Town Football Club had to bring a first-team squad to the Crown Meadow for a pre-season friendly prior to the start of the 2012/13 season.

Lowestoft chairman Gary Keyzor said: “Martin Starnes stated over the telephone that it was impossible to bring a side and used the reason that the manager had been changed since the original deal, even though Gary Johnson was installed as first-team manager I believe on the 9th January 2012, and the club knew that the game had to be played as agreed. Although I can`t see how that makes any difference as the deal was done club to club and not via managers.

“Martin Starnes did offer to send up a youth side if that was acceptable to us!

“The matter will now be handed over to the Football Association to deal with.”
