Having overseen a victory at Hadleigh United in the RI Cup and a battling away point at Stanway Rovers on Saturday, he has also announced that star striker Dan Cornwell has put pen-to-paper on another year long contract deal at the New Croft.
Cornwell, who has scored eight goals in eleven starts this season, is one of the league’s hottest properties and has been watched by a number of teams from higher divisions during the last few weeks.
However, following negotiations with Rovers` chairman Mike Tokely, Shulver and Betts, Cornwell has committed to stay at the club he joined eighteen months ago. Shulver said: “Dan is committed to the Rovers cause, and we are all thrilled he has been willing to sign an extended deal for next season. He believes the club are moving in the right direction, and is happy with both the current management set up and the plans the committee have put in place for the permanent appointment of Peter’s successor.”
Following his suspension for five yellow cards on Saturday, Cornwell will intend to return to action as the first-team take on Thetford Town at the New Croft next week.
