....from Southern Division One Central neighbours Rugby Town as they seek a replacement for Kyle Cartwright.
Gourlay, who played in last Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Hednesford Town, will join the Greenbacks once the relevant paperwork has been completed.
He will take Cartwright’s place in the squad after the defender decided the writing was on the wall following the signing of another centre half — Christian Ramsay-Dickson — last week.
Manager Steve Farmer said: “Melvin is a strong experienced defender at the age of 29. He will be a good addition, assuming his move from Rugby goes as planned.
“Kyle has decided to move on as he felt as he wouldn’t play as much as he wanted this season.
“He’s a lovely lad who I’ve got a lot of time for.
“I’ve tried to find him a new club because he’ll do a good job for someone.”
Bedworth are also hoping to sign former Corby Town forward Tyrone Amory after he impressed at Hednesford.
Farmer made every effort to see Amory in action as he left a family holiday in Newquay to drive the 500 mile round trip to Keys Park on Saturday.
“There were positive and negatives from the game, like most friendlies. I wasn’t thrilled with the first half, but we were much better in the second half.
“There are lots we can do better, but on the way back to Newquay I thought about it. We’ve got eight new players to integrate and eight games to do it so there is no massive rush,” he said.
