Greene Looks at New Keeper
Dennis Greene

....Austrian shot-stopper Jorg Stadelmann.

Stutes` new manager Dennis Greene said Stadelmann, who was first choice last season under former boss David Livermore, was not in his squad.

Stadelmann was brought to England by Livermore in order to play and use his sports science qualifications as part of the club’s link with Anglia Ruskin University.

There could still be a place in the squad for midfielder Grant Roberts, while former Stute Max York is also training with the club.

But the boss, who saw his team lose their first pre-season friendly 2-1 at Royston Town last Saturday, wants to assess them further before thinking about deals.

"We’re just looking at the moment as it’s early doors," said Greene. "I’ve only known the players for a few days, so I need to see them play before I can start offering contracts."

Meanwhile, the Brian Page saga was also resolved yesterday, with the man who was announced as Livermore’s replacement before contract talks broke down confirming he would be staying at the club as a youth coach.
