....fear when they travel to Aveley for their FA Cup First Qualifying Round tie tomorrow.
The Brettsiders’ only previous outing at this stage of the prestigious competition ended in a 1-0 defeat to Romford in the 1995/96 season, but Crawford believes his troops could surpass that achievement and go one better this year.
Having already conquered Ryman League Division One North opposition with a 2-1 win against Harlow Town in the previous round, the Hadleigh boss believes his side have every chance of causing another cup upset when they make the trip to Aveley this weekend.
“We’re going there full of confidence and if we play the way we want to play it is a winnable game,” Crawford said.
“There’s experience in the side with a number of players who have played at that level so we have nothing to fear.
“We’ve got little to lose and everything to gain as there’s £3,000 at stake for the winners which would be a massive amount for a club of our size.”
Hadleigh were without a match last weekend, meaning preparation for this weekend’s clash has been far from ideal, two weeks having passed since the impressive victory against Harlow.
Crawford will be without Danny Allen, who is still recovering from a broken foot and Ben Deacon, the club’s top scorer for the past two seasons, who has recently joined league rivals Brantham Athletic.
