Hand is angry about being fined a week’s wages for his red card in the 1-0 victory at Lincoln City last month.

That win was not enough to save Nasir Bashir’s side from relegation and they will be playing in the Conference South next season.

But they will have to do without Hand as the former Luton Town and Watford midfielder is refusing to play under the rule of chairman Derek Goodall.

“I was fined a week’s wages for my red card, which I feel is a very high percentage,” Hand said. “The most you ever get fined is two weeks’ wages and I don’t think a sending-off warrants a week’s wages.

“I’m not asking them not to fine me a penny. I got sent-off at Luton Town earlier in the season and they fined me a percentage of my week’s wages and I know that’s how it’s run at other clubs.

“I’ve taken a harsh view on it and said I won’t play for the club again. Director of football Tony O’Driscoll and Nas Bashir are telling me it’s the chairman’s decision to fine me. If that’s his decision that’s fine but I won’t play for the club again while he is in charge.

“It’s an easy decision to save a week’s wages in the last week of the season so I think it’s just a financial saving for themselves rather than a club rule.”

Hand, who has also been fined £250 by the FA after his exchanges with Luton fans on Twitter, admits it is a wrench to leave Kingfield after two years and leaves on good terms with Bashir and O’Driscoll.

“They can have the week’s wages but I feel they’re losing one of the best players they’ve had over the last few years,” said Hand.

“It’ll be a shame for me because I do genuinely love the club. I’ve been there two years now and came straight back after my spell at Luton, despite getting offered better money to go elsewhere.

"I came back because I have such a good relationship with Tony and Nas – I’d never have a bad word to say about them. The fans that do go and watch are brilliant and I’m gutted we got relegated. I really wanted us to stay and be a part of something special.”

Hayes & Yeading have confirmed Hand was fined for his dismissal against the Imps.

A club spokesman added: “At the start of the season or on joining the club, all players are made aware of the fining system and the conduct expected of them as a Hayes & Yeading United player.”
