The 19-year-old Academy product failed to make his senior debut for Pompey’s first-team.
But he travelled out to Spain with the first-team squad in 2011 and played 70 minutes of the 5-1 friendly defeat to Real Betis.
Stockford had been at Fratton Park for nine years, steadily rising through the ranks after starting out in Pompey’s under-11 side. He was awarded a one-year professional deal in May 2011.
The talented young midfielder spent time on loan in the Conference South with Salisbury City during last season.
The original one month`s loan was extended to two during which time he made seven appearances for the Whites.
He then returned to Fratton Park before being sent out on loan again in March 2012, this time to Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division side AFC Totton, where he made ten appearances.
