Miller To Stand Down At Purton

Purton play their last game of the season at Cheltenham Saracens, which will be manager Justin Miller’s final game for the Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One West club.

Chairman Alan Eastwood acknowledges Miller’s involvement: “His input the past three years has been first class, assisted during the season by Nick Maggs and physio Darren Beers. His influence has created a first-class team spirit with the players.

“Justin’s work and family commitments are the main reason for him standing down, coupled with the fact that the club due to ‘ground criteria rulings’ will be forced back to the Wiltshire County League.”

Eastwood added: “Purton worked hard after winning the Wilts League and since then have tried to improve on ground requirements, but have been turned down by their local Parish Council and Trustees to any alterations to ground at the Red House.”

Purton will be advertising for a new management team to take over and new committee members for the 2017/18 season.
