Impressive Signings for Basford

....Counties League for the season 2012/13, have moved swiftly to clinch some impressive signings.

With the change of management at Hucknall Town, United have snapped up three of last season`s Watnall Road regulars in flankers Aiden Brady, Theo Smith and Ex-Nottingham Forest player and academy coach Craig Armstrong.

Additionally Basford have added central defender Joe Pheasant from Hucknall`s Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South rivals Stamford AFC.

Basford manager Chris Munroe said: "These signings are a clear demonstration that our club is on the move and looking to continue the great success of 2011/12.

“Going head-to-head with some of the County`s senior teams and clinching these signings is a clear statement of intent from United.

“Basford have ambitious plans to redevelop their current Greenwich Avenue ground, and have lodged planning applications. Additionally the club has formulated new for season 2012/13 a youth and academy structure that will develope over the coming periods.”
