Bostik League Premier club Leiston have announced that striker Matt Blake has committed to a further three years at Victory Road.
Blake had a fantastic inaugural season at step three, netting 42 goals in all competitions, 29 of which were in the Premier Division which helped him scoop the golden boot award.
Twenty-eight-year-old Blake has been attracting various suitors over the months but is happy to commit to the club for the future.
A happy Blues boss Glenn Driver said: “Agreeing a deal with Matt Blake to stay at the club is massive for all involved. He was without doubt the best striker I saw last season and for him to step up two leagues from the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division and score 42 goals was a terrific achievement. He is a level-headed guy and is great around the other players.
“Having Matt for the start of this season gives myself and Tony Kinsella a relief as he would have been very difficult to replace. I would like to thank the football club for supporting me in what is a massive signing for our club. I wish Matt all the best and I’m sure he will become a Leiston legend”.
I love this club and everybody involved in it! 💙 3yr deal… Lets make things happen. pic.twitter.com/vtfK77kfC8
