Neil Cugley, manager of Bostik League Premier club Folkestone Invicta, was delighted with the turnout when his players – including several new faces – reported for pre-season training following the summer break.

The squad included also included several triallists – one a central defender and another a versatile player who can fill several positions at the back – with more newcomers expected this week.

“They were all looking sharp and with the two new lads, Ade Yusuff and Kieron McCann, it looks like we’ll have a lot more pace about us this coming season,” Cugley told the club`s official website. “We’re nearly where we want to be with the squad. We need at least one more newcomer and it would be nice to have more.

“Those two both look good and now we’re getting going I’m much happier with the situation than I was a few weeks ago.”

Also back were full-back Josh Vincent and striker Ian Draycott, who return as married men following their respective weddings in the last month or so.

“Even they looked in reasonable shape!” joked Cugley.
