Cray Wanderers are exhibiting their new ground proposals to the public this week.
After almost two decades of ground sharing with Bromley, Cray were given the green light last year for their new stadium to be built.
However, London Mayor Sidiq Kahn pulled the plug on the development and the club’s new stadium hopes were quashed.
But, not disheartened by that big setback, the club have since revised their plans for the new ground at the same site – Flamingo Park, just off the A20 Sidcup Bypass – and are not set to display them to the public on Friday and Saturday.
Wanderers Chairman Gary Hillman will hope the Mayor’s concerns will be resolved with these new plans, and said: “We welcome anyone who would like to find out more to come along and join us at the exhibition, we will be happy to explain the new scheme, answer any questions and we look forward to receiving feedback from members of the local community.”
The exhibition will take place between 2 and 5 pm on Friday, and again between 11am and 2pm on Saturday. If you would like to take the minibus on Saturday, it will pick up from The White Hart, 106 High Street, Orpington, BR6 0JY at 1245 PM, and then from The Bull Inn, Sandy Lane, Orpington, BR5 3HS at 1PM. To book, contact Mark Simpson (07948549699) or Mark Hunt (07854796325).
