Giants Sheffield Wednesday want to sign Carshalton Athletic’s Mikel Miller if today’s papers are to be believed.
The Mirror are reporting that the Owls will make a move for the 21 year old Robins striker next week.
That’s because their scouts have been impressed by Miller’s scoring record and his performances in the Jamie Vardy Academy matches.
He has found the net 35 times for Carshalton as the Bostik South club just missed out on promotion last season.
According to the newspaper, he will go on trial at Hillsborough and should he impress then he is likely to be offered a contract.
It’s not only Championship Wednesday who are giving chances to Non-League players.
This close season has seen a raft of talent move into the top of the game, with one deal – a move to Middlesbrough for Lewis Wing, the star from Shildon – completed at the end of last week.
Miller had previously been linked with Aldershot but has been a Robins player for the past four years, coming through the club’s academy.
