It`s Going to be New-Look Town
Michael Butcher

....Division club Reading Town from last season’s first-team squad.

The rest have left Scours Lane, with most following the club’s former manager Mark Bartley to new league rivals Marlow.

A few have also been training with Maidenhead United and Cove, but new manager Michael Butcher is unlikely to be short of replacements as he looks to rebuild the team.

“We have had twenty-five to thirty players training,” Butcher told the Reading Post. “But with no reserve team and a small budget, I won’t be able to sign them all on.

“We have a number of friendlies arranged which will give me time to find what I think will be the strongest team.”

Town, who appointed Craig Drummond to their coaching staff, play their first pre-season friendly at North Gloucestershire League side Westbury United on Saturday, followed next Tuesday by a trip to Molten Spartan South Midlands Leaguers Harefield United.
