Ryan Jackson, who is also comfortable on the right side of midfield, joins the Silkmen on a free transfer from npower League Two side AFC Wimbledon where he came through the ranks to make his debut for the side in April 2010.
The following season, however, he made a first-team spot his own, making almost forty league and cup appearances as the club amassed ninety points to finish second behind Crawley Town - and win the play-offs.
Last season saw the pacey player in and out of the side at AFC Wimbledon, but gained more experience with a four-game loan spell with Fleetwood Town where he played a part in their title run by helping them win all four matches, and scored twice in a 3-1 win over Lincoln City.
He also joined Cambridge United for the final month of the season, playing five times.
He joins the Silkmen on a deal until the end of the 2012/13 season.
