Jordan Returns to Fenmen

....his new goalkeeper Lea Jordan around here.

Appleby has persuaded Jordan to return for a second spell in the Fenmen fold as he plots a challenge for promotion next season.

Jordan became a real fans’ favourite over at the Fenland Stadium during the 2010/11 campaign but work commitments, which left him unavailable for midweek matches, forced his exit from the club.

That is no longer an issue and Appleby can’t wait to welcome back a player who had spells at March Town United, Yaxley and Soham Town Rangers last season.

Appleby said: “There’s no doubt in my mind that when Lea is focused and playing well, he is the best goalkeeper in the area.

“He enjoyed his time here before and the fans really took to him, so we’re delighted to get him back.”

Appleby plans to make just one more new addition to his squad this summer - a creative central midfield player.

He added: “It is essential to have a strong spine to the side and I am well on the way to getting that after bringing in Lea and a goalscorer in Simon Mowbray this summer. Now I just need to add the midfielder I’m after.”

Appleby is also waiting to hear whether midfield man Lewis Thompson and frontman Denny Escorcio are to return. They are the only two members of last season’s Fenmen squad yet to commit for next term.
