Jake Gess opened for City after 20 minutes but Bobby Bennett ensured the half-time score was 1-1.
Michael Smissen and Scott Punton hit the second half goals which gave City the three points.
Erith Town return to second place after a thumping 6-0 victory at Holmesdale.
Ray Powell scored the only first half goal then Nick Davis, Tyrus Gorden (2), Liam Burgess and Chris Walker completed the demolition job.
Tunbridge Wells move up to sixth place after a convincing 4-0 win at home to Woodstock Sports.
Nick Nowotny scored twice, one from the spot, and Andy Irvine once to make the score 3-0 at half time. Irvine got a second to complete the scoring in the second half.
Cray Valley and Lordswood swap league places after Lordswood won 2-1.
Jake Dolby opened for Cray just before the half-hour mark but Imran Engelfield and Nathan Taylor gave Lordswood the lift to go above their opponants in the league.
Deal Town bowed out of the Kent Senior Trophy at the semi-final stage, sunk by an own goal in the last quarter of the game at home to Sevenoaks Town.
Sam Jeremiah scored his first goal for Sevenoaks to give them a 1-0 first half lead. Substitute George Amber headed the Deal equaliser on 73 minutes but then came Jason Gilmore's unfortunate error which sees the Oaks through to this season's final.
Erith & Belvedere are Sevenoaks' opponants in that final but they needed extra-time to overcome Kent Invicta League side Hollands & Blair.
Kofi Quartey put the Deres ahead inside the first 5 minutes. Mark Chiverton equalised and the first half finished honours even.
Andy Constable restored the Deres' lead 10 minutes from full-time but Carl Preston forced extra-time with a goal in the final minute of normal time.
Constable hit the deciding goal from the penalty spot in the second period of overtime.
