Kitching Reflects on `Fantastic` Season
Neil Kitching

.....Premier League Premier Division and success in the Walsall Senior Cup as well as being runners-up in two other cup competitions.

"What we have achieved this season is nothing short of fantastic," said boss Neil Kitching without hesitation. "We were strong favourites for relegation at the outset of the season in what is a strong league, but right from the first day when we went to Chester FC and drew, we have continued to prove everyone wrong.

"We've got a good squad here and have played some decent football.

"We suffered a few injuries during February/March and our results suffered because of it. Had it not been for that blip we would have ended the campaign challenging for the play-offs.

"I'm really pleased but I don't want us to stand still and am determined to see us kick-on next season.

"We'll be strengthening during the summer and adding the extra quality that will allow us to continue progressing and not suffer second season syndrome.

"Over the next couple of weeks I'll be assessing the season and what we need to go forward. There'll be new offers to existing players whilst some will no doubt move on.

"I'll also be identifying the players I want to bring in.

"Then I'll go away for a fortnight and come back refreshed and recharged, ready for the new season."
