K`s Miss The Chance To Go Third

Kingstonian missed the opportunity to move into the top three in the Bostik League Premier table on Tuesday when they were beaten 2-0 at the Taydal Stadium by a now ninth-placed Brightlingsea Regent.

Regent were playing under the knowledge that manager James Webster was leaving to take the vacancy at league rivals Aveley (see separate news item), but Aaron Goode’s 26th minute own goal was swiftly followed 3 minutes later by an Aaron Condon goal, condemning the K’s to a third defeat in eight days.

Wingate & Finchley suffered a fourth successive league defeat against Metropolitan Police 2-0 in an ill-tempered encounter at Imber Court.

Two goals from Calum Kealy in the 16th and 28th minutes sealed victory for the home side, who sat back and soaked up Wingate’s second half pressure to earn three points and a clean sheet on a wet Tuesday night in Surrey.

Both teams ended the game with ten-men as Wingate`s Ahmet Rifat and the Met`s Tom Hickey saw red late on.

With 7 minutes remaining, Rifat was shown a second yellow card for a foul, before Hickey was given his marching orders for getting involved in the aftermath.

Tuesday`s other game saw Harlow Town and Dorking Wanderers share a 2-2 draw at The Arena.

Jared Small put the hosts ahead with a well-taken individual goal after 14 minutes, before Guiseppe Sole finished off a swift counter-attack to draw level on 33 minutes.

Reece Dobson’s neat flick from close range put the Hawks in front again on 69 minutes, before Solomon Pinnock’s finish for the visitors shared the points 12 minutes from time.
