K`s Return for Traynor?
Bobby Traynor

.....club – but he might need time to find his fitness. The 28-year-old delivered a bombshell in the summer when he told Ks boss Alan Dowson he was taking a break from the game to concentrate on his work commitments. But three-time Ryman League `golden boot` winner Traynor, who got married during the summer, this week signalled he may be about to come out of his temporary exile. The former Brentford trainee would not be short of offers should he return to the game. But while Traynor, who works for an IT insurance firm, reckoned he may have to get games elsewhere on his return, he admitted he had been missing life at K`s. “Work went mental over the summer and I’ve had to be doing a lot more travelling,” he told the Surrey Comet. “I wasn’t going to be able to commit 100 per cent, so it seemed the best decision was to take a break from the game. “This is the job I’ll be doing when I finish football so it had to take priority for a bit. “Things have calmed down a bit now and it seems I might be in a position to play again around Christmas. I’m only 28 years old. I’ve certainly not finished for good. “I’ve been keeping fit, but I’m going to have to get match sharp, so I might have to go elsewhere to start with. “I’m not going to put a time on it because things at work can change quickly, but I want to get back to Ks.” Cheam-based Traynor has not been seen at Kingsmeadow since last season and Ks have made a strong start to the new Ryman Premier League season in his absence, although Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Bury Town ended their unbeaten run. Dowson’s new-look forward line featuring Wade Small, Andre McCollin and Craig Mullen have impressed thus far. And Traynor admitted persuading the K`s boss to give him another chance could be tricky. “Alan is always going to try and get the best players available in and they have looked good so far,” he added. “It wouldn’t be a case of walking straight back into the team. I’d have to prove my worth. But I miss football and I want to get back to where I was.”
