Lambs` Squad Taking Shape
Marcus Law

.....season's skipper Paul Green could leave the club.

Law says he has agreed terms with a number of new players to add to those already at the club, including Richard Tait, JP Marna and Scott Barrow.

Goalkeeper Tony Breeden and former defender Tom Marshall are among those who have been linked to the Lambs in recent weeks.

But Law is determined to keep his cards close to his chest with regards to new additions.

"We want to slip under the radar in terms of the players that we are bringing in," Law said.

"We want to keep things quiet as we don't want people, outside of Tamworth, getting wind of the type of players we are signing for the club.

"But I am happy with the way things are developing in terms of the squad.

"We haven't stopped working since the end of last season.

"I had one target in my office at 5pm on the day of the Cambridge game, talking about joining us.

"We have agreed deals with eight or nine players and have a couple of loan deals lined up for players with a League One team.

"We will also have up to twenty triallists joining us in pre-season and we'll be looking closely at them before making any decisions.

"I believe the calibre of players that we are looking at will get the supporters excited.

"And I believe the players in question are footballers who will replicate the hard working people of Tamworth."

Of last season's captain Green, Law said: "It's looking more likely that Paul will be moving on, which is what happens the longer time goes on.

"He has been away in America so I haven't spoken to him for a couple of weeks but I am not too hopeful of keeping him now.

"It's one of them where we wouldn't rule it out completely but we already have replacements in mind."
