....side respond to criticism and a shake-up with a 2-1 victory at Lincoln City on Tuesday night.

Law made five changes to the side which had several errors punished to the full in a 5-1 defeat at Dartford on Saturday and then watched them come from behind to claim a third successive victory over the Imps at Sincil Bank inside ten months, two in the league and one in the FA Cup.

Anthony Wilson, who had been restored up front, got the equaliser on 64 minutes and 16 minutes later skipper Darran Kempson headed the winner. They were first goals of the season for both players.

Law's explanation was simple. "On Saturday we were constantly on the back foot because the strikers didn't close their defence down, and we made far too many silly individual errors.

"The front two at Lincoln have gone and worked hard which has enabled everyone else to come in behind them and be able to play our game.

"We had to make changes after Saturday, and to be fair to the lads that came in, I got the response I wanted from them. The front pairing of Anthony Wilson and Nathan Arnold have harried and chased and made life difficult for their defenders who were unable to bring the ball out.

"It was a really good, battling performance. We were unlucky to go behind because we were the dominant team at the time. We were not hanging on at any stage and we always looked like we could win it.

"We were a different team altogether. It was a much-improved performance, we played on the front foot and if we continue to do that, the results will follow."

Law also had a special word of praise for central defender Darran Kempson who had received criticism after his display in the defeat at Dartford.

"Perhaps he had lost a bit of confidence and belief, but I see him as our number one centre half. I see him as a big player for us.

"I am delighted for him to get the winner. His goal late on was a brave header, a 50-50 with their keeper who pulled out and fair play to Darran for getting there."

With one eye on this Saturday's tough home game against second-placed Luton Town, Law commented: "It is going to be another tough game against another top team, but if we go and put that level of commitment and performance in, we will improve our chances of getting something."
