.....Steve Kittrick – in the best possible sense of the word.
The Lions have made a stunning start to their season, winning 4-1 in sweltering conditions at Histon last Saturday and demolishing Droylsden 7-1 at Nethermoor on Tuesday night.
“You don’t want to change a winning team unless you have to,” said Kittrick. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it but the squad as a whole have done well.
"The win at Histon was not flattering as we wore them down in 30 degrees weather and it was very humid, and I was very, very pleased with how we played on Tuesday.
”If the kudos belong to the team who started the matches, then Kittrick is also delighted with the contributions off the bench, with Danny Forrest netting last Saturday and new signing, England `C` international Stephen Brogan, doing likewise in midweek after joining the Lions from Stalybridge Celtic.
Nicky Boshell, who was ill before the Histon match, is emerging as a key figure, scoring twice in each match.
On Saturday, leaders Guiseley host play-off finalists Gainsborough Trinity, while on Bank Holiday Monday the Lions are at Workington.
