...Saturday’s first pre-season friendly at Bedford Town.
The Stutes boss faces a restricted budget to sign new players as keeper David Knight failed to secure a deal at Barrow AFC.
But he remains hopeful of signing new players who will do a good job in the Conference North.
"David will not be going to Barrow," said Livermore. "So it’s back to the drawing board. There aren’t any other clubs interested at present, but his agent is looking around for him.
"It’s a shame, because having that money back in the budget would really help us. Without it, it’s going to be a bit difficult."
Livermore still has eight triallists at the club and all are likely to get a run-out tomorrow, along with contracted players.
He revealed that one of the triallists, a centre forward, has been offered a deal and is currently considering it.
"The player wants to be here and is happy we’ve offered him a contract. He’s now got to decide what’s best for him."
Improved fitness will be the main priority for tomorrow’s match, but Livermore will also get a clearer picture of which triallists he wants to hold on to.
"The guys have worked very hard this week, so they’ll be going into the game with sore legs and muscles, but that’s what pre-season is all about," he said.
"After the game, the number of triallists will come down. The sooner everyone knows where they stand the better."
