Whilst having to spend Monday to Friday in the North West due to work, both Lockey and the committee concluded the commitment needed to run a club at Wessex League level would seriously be compromised by such a situation and it was there for mutually agreed that Lockey, whilst remaining at the club, would step down from the post of first-team manager.
It is hoped he will now help on the commercial and financial side of matters relating to the club moving forward.
The committee have moved quickly to appoint a replacement with Robbie Elliott and Ryan Chard - both formerly of Christchurch reserves who play in the Wyvern Combination Premier League - taking up the reins for the forthcoming season.
