Kevin McGrath gave the visitors a 14th minute lead that Tom Bentham doubled on the half-hour mark.
Matt Warburton made it 3-0 on the hour, with Josh Miller replying for the hosts 15 minutes later.
Padiham kept the gap between them and Maine Road to three points after beating Barnoldswick Town 3-0.
In front of a decent crowd of 226, Neil Stansfield gave the home side a 7th minute lead that Joe Garvin doubled 10 minutes later and then Sam Morris made sure with a third just past the hour-mark.
The biggest crowd of the day – 488 – saw the Runcorn derby between Linnets and Town finish all-square at 1-1.
James McShane gave Town the lead a minute before half-time and the third-placed outfit held that until a minute from time when Ross McDowell popped up with the Linnets` equaliser.
AFC Blackpool won 2-0 at struggling Squires Gate with goals from Lloyd Balazs on 20 minutes and James Walker from the penalty spot in stoppage time, while AFC Liverpool won 2-1 in the derby at home to Bootle.
Muktar Mahama gave the hosts an early 3rd minute lead that Paul Byrne cancelled out 10 minutes later, with the experienced John Lawless winning it for AFC on 67 minutes.
Winsford United won 4-0 at Alsager Town with a brace from Andy Brace and singles from Callum Gardner and Andy Keogh, while the game between Ashton Athletic and Wigan Robin Park was abandoned.
