Steve Huntington has stepped down as assistant-manager of Midland League Premier Division club Heanor Town.

He has been forced to step down due to an increased work load and not being able to commit to the role since becoming the headmaster of Heanor Gate School.

However, Huntington remains a big part of the club behind the scenes and remains a vital part of the future of the whole club as it continues to grow.

Paul Postlethwaite will now be the first-team assistant-manager alongside Steve Hamilton and Dan Newton, who will join the first-team set-up as goalkeeper coach.

This news coincides with the Central Midland League`s decision not to continue with the proposed Saturday under-21 league.

Next season the club will be running a reserve team playing in the Central Midland League Division One and will also be running an under-21 midweek team in the WVH Under-21 League.
