John Snape and Lee Hughes, joint-managers of Midland League Premier Division club Worcester City, have announced they have secured the signature of current player of the season and fans` favourite Tyler Weir.

The 26-year-old re-joined City for a second spell in 2013 from Gloucester City.

He originally signed for the club in January 2012 after being released by Hereford United.

On confirmation of the signature, Hughes said: “Tyler is a great all-round footballer and a great person to have around the club. He is going to be an asset to the club and he is going to play a massive part of what we want to achieve next season. I cannot wait to start working with him again.”

Weir said: “I am buzzing to be staying. There has been a lot of interest this summer but I am happy to still be at Worcester City. I want this club to be back where we should be!”
