Midweek Uhlsport Hellenic League Review

On Monday evening, Binfield took on Ascot United. Unfortunately for a decent attendance of 145, neither side could produce a goal in a goalless stalemate.

The same evening, Highmoor Ibis faced near-neighbours Reading Town and won 4-0.

Mohammed Davies, who scored four goals at the weekend in a cup tie against New College Swindon, was again on fire scoring a hat-trick with the splendidly-named Ivan Iliev adding a fourth goal for Highmoor.

Highworth Town were well beaten at home by Wokingham & Embrook, going down 3-0 to goals from Matt Jones (2) and Nick Bateman.

In the third round of the AM Print & Copy Floodlight Cup, Slimbridge hosted Newbury.

After 90 minutes the match was all square at 3-3 with goals for Slimbridge from Stuart Gates, Marvyn Roberts and Saul Williams.

Kalief Madden with two goals and George Holland scored for Newbury. Extra time ensued with Marvyn Roberts notching a further two goals for Slimbridge to complete his hat-trick, making the final score 5-3 to Slimbridge.

Two matches were played in the second round of the Gloucestershire FA Trophy.

Brimscombe & Thrupp faced Toolstation Western League Bristol Manor Farm and did extremely well to draw 2-2.

Bristol Manor Farm proceeded to the next round, however, by winning the penalty shoot-out 4-2.

Cheltenham Saracens were held to a 2-2 draw by Rockleaze Rangers but won by 3-0 on penalties.
