Striker Scott Mooney has returned to East Midlands Counties League club Holwell Sports after three seasons away playing at a higher level.

Mooney Goes `Home` to Holwell Sports

The then 20-year-old striker leapt four rungs up the non-League ladder when leaving Sports to join Hyde United after a successful trial period with the Tigers in July 2009.

Now 24, he has since played for Corby Town in the Blue Square Bet North as well as for Stamford AFC, Quorn and Loughborough Dynamo in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League.

Holwell Sports vice-chairman Paul Teare said: “Now that Scott's back we hope to see the goals for column rise if he can replicate his previous tally of twenty-four goals in thirty-four games!”
