.....his backroom staff following his appointment last week.

Former Town player Stephen Edwards will be assisting Granite, and he will also be joined by John Wilkie.

Granite said: “I’ve always worked with two assistants and I have gone with the same set-up again here at St Helens.

“My partnership with John goes back to our Sunday League days and more recently at Wigan Robin Park and I am delighted to have him as part of the team once again.”

Granite is also delighted to report that former Skelmersdale United and Kendal Town player Carl Osman has also joined the club as first-team player-coach.

Granite added: “Carl is a real coup for me and the club. He’s got bags of experience and has been with Kendal Town in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League for the past four seasons.

“Carl’s a fantastic player and at 28 years old he will be an excellent addition to the playing squad and the coaching staff.”
