Morris Makes Roms` Return

....Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South. After last Saturday’s FA Cup exit at Westfields and league stalemate with Market Drayton Town, Evans moved to bolster his attacking options with a trip to table-toppers Stamford AFC on the horizon before local rivals Chasetown visit Coles Lane on Monday night.

Former Hednesford Town, Stourbridge and Rushall Olympic frontman Morris impressed for the Roms last season before earning a move to Stafford Rangers where he began this season, making one start and one substitute appearance in their opening four games.

And with the Roms looking to get over their early cup exit and win their first game this season, Evans wants to see Morris hit the ground running.

“We were poor against Westfields, it was just not a good performance, everything we didn’t want really. It was hard to put your finger on it, we just played badly and everyone had one of those days.

“On Monday against Market Drayton we were much better and showed what we were about, we bossed the game but we need to be more clinical in our finishing – if we had taken our chances we would have won by four or five.

“Hopefully, that is where Chris comes in – he is a good player and will add a bit more firepower up front.

“He worked hard for us last season and knows about how we work, in the dressing room and on the pitch, so it shouldn’t take long for him to settle back in.

“We are happy with the squad at the moment but we had to take the opportunity to bring a quality player like Chris in.”
