....by npower League Two side Macclesfield Town before tonight's crucial clash with Northampton Town.

Southport boss Liam Watson said: “It is totally understandable as Macclesfield have a number of players out. I will monitor the situation and hopefully the situation will improve at Macclesfield, if that is the case Vinny may be able to return. But we will have to wait and see – it`s out of our hands.”

Defender Ashley Palmer has also returned to his parent club, Scunthorpe United, after his month`s loan ended this week.
