A close season signing from neighbours Guiseley, Needham is a former Sheffield Wednesday junior who has Football League experience with Notts County.

A couple of spells with Gainsborough Trinity followed before joining Guiseley where his form attracted the attention of Shaymen boss Neil Aspin, who had previously tried to sign the midfielder before finally getting his man last summer.
