The former Northampton Town stopper, who had a loan spell at Brackley Town last season, was released by the Sixfields outfit at the end of the campaign.
Sampson said: “Paul is obviously someone I know and I gave him his first professional contract at Northampton Town.
“It is very pleasing to get these lads on board for next season.”
Meanwhile, central defender Phil Gulliver has followed new club captain Paul Malone in re-signing for the Steelmen.
Gulliver, who joined Corby in 2008 made his debut in the game against Rugby Town on New Year`s Day and has made an immediate impact on the defence which from the day he joined went 530 minutes without conceding a goal.
The former Rushden & Diamonds player also scored the winning goal for the Steelmen on his return to Oxford City in January 2009.
Gulliver led the Steelmen to the Southern League title in his first season and also netted at Rockingham Road in the Hillier Cup semi-final victory against local rivals Kettering Town in February 2010.
Sampson was pleased to have retained Gulliver and said: “Phil has the experience at Conference North level having played in there for the past few years. I see him and Paul Malone as a very good partnership at the heart of the defence.”
