.....they look to put behind them a difficult 2011/12 season both on and off the pitch.
Simon Lacey returns to the club as first-team manager after a five-year break and brings with him the veteran coach Jerry Dimond and fresh-faced Jason Weinrabe as first-team coaches. Lacey said of his return: “Jerry and I enjoyed our last spell with the club, so when Ian Richardson decided to stand down, it didn’t take long for us to conclude that this opportunity was too good to turn down, especially when Jason expressed an interest in joining us.” Dimond is well known in local football circles and counts Aylesbury United, Aylesbury FC and Tring Athletic amongst his former clubs, along with a successful spell coaching in New Zealand.
Weinrabe has managed at Holmer Green and has coached at Berkhamstead Town and in Africa, America, Australia and the Isles of Scilly.
The trio, who have already been christened `The Three Tenors`, have moved swiftly in planning a pre-season that features a number of attractive-looking fixtures. “We are organised, with training sessions planned and a selection of excellent competitive fixtures lined up. It was important to give ourselves stern tests, to work out what we need to do before the season starts. It’s going to be a tough, but exciting, pre-season,” Lacey added. “I’d like to invite players, new and old to come to pre-season training and take a look at what we are looking to achieve.
“I’d like to think players will be impressed with what the club has to offer, not least two excellent coaches. Players can come to us and learn, develop and enjoy their football.” “Target-wise, we are looking to play some good, attractive football and have some fun along the way.”
The club are also looking for a manager or player-manager for the reserve side, as the club looks to develop players from the youth set-up. Anyone interested should contact the club secretary Gary Mendham on 07886528214.
