Morrison brings considerable managerial experience having been manager of fellow NWCL side Flixton since November 2009.
Prior to this Morrison had been in charge at Mid-Cheshire League outfit Styal FC, who saw unprecedented success during his tenure with both the first-team and the reserves winning their respective league titles as well as a Memorial Cup victory.
Town chairman John McKiernan said: “We received over thirty serious applications for the position, interviewed a number of very strong candidates and we believe that Lloyd is a great choice for the club with all members of the panel hugely impressed by his experience, ambition, commitment and enthusiasm.
“Lloyd worked wonders at Flixton with season on season improvements in their final league position, despite the lack of a playing budget. While under his guidance the club was able to progress a number of players onto professional contracts.
“We are confident that Lloyd’s experience and skills will ensure a bright future for St Helens Town. He will be working closely with our Reserve management team and our newly formed Youth team who are hoping to enter the North West Youth Alliance Football League for the 2012/13 season.
“Lloyd is hoping to announce the additional members of his management team in the next couple of days and he has started work on contacting players and the club’s pre-season programme.”
